Griffith, Incorporated, in 1920 with the working title The Cynic Effect, but was not released. Arrangements were made for Famous Players-Lasky Corporation to release the film on 15 May 1921 under the title Oh, Jo!, but the film was not released. Griffith’s company leased the film to Producers’ Security Corporation in March 1922. In 1922, the film was temporarily known as Her First Love. The film was reedited with new intertitles by Joseph Farnham and retitled The Country Flapper; this version was released on 29 July 1922, with Dorothy Gish Productions credited as the producing company.
